FAIRBURN MEWS AND VALE CASTLEFORD
The Fairburn development comprised of the concurrent construction of two independent 20 bed nursing blocks for specialist needs. This increased the capacity of a popular establishment by 40 beds with the necessary amenities. The foundations required specialist attention to withstand difficult ground conditions such as underground voids formed by the movement of water within sand tunnels. Further obstacles involved insufficient existing main drainage and the installation of a pumping station was required and environmental considerations were needed in relation to the surface water run off.
